Media Players

Media players are screens that can play media from YouTube and SoundCloud, as well as .webm links. They can be found in the Plaza and purchased for Condos.

Features

Media Queue

When a media player is turned on:

1. Hold Q to open up the queue.
2. Click Add Media and paste a video link into the input bar
3. The video will be added to the end of the queue

Players can upvote and downvote videos to push them up or down in the queue, report links using the flag button, and vote skip videos. Reported links, if banned, cannot be played in the Plaza.

Save Playlists

The condo owner can save playlists on individual media players. Playlists save the current video queue, then play it on loop. Playlists persist to future play sessions and are saved in snapshots.

Media Player Admin

Condo owners have the Media Player Admin permission and can give this permission to other players. Media admins can skip and delete videos from the queue, save playlists, and add any link from the internet. Websites cannot be interacted with on media players and most other sites don't sync between visitors, so this functionality is limited.

In Condos

The Theater and Resort Condos both have media players built into them.

Media Player Items

Item Properties

Settings available for media player items.

Adds a scan line effect to the screen.

Adds an adjustable amount of glare to the screen. Can be adjusted from 0 to 1.

Desaturates the screen by an adjustable amount. Can be adjusted from 0 to 1 (1 = grayscale).

Condo IO Connections

• Events: OnMediaStarted, OnMediaEnded
• Actions: SetChannel, NextChannel

Channels

Media Players can form persistent connections to Security Cameras, Libretro game consoles, and other Media Players. Each connection to a media player adds a new channel; channels can be switched between using IO events or the equippable Media Remote Control item.

Synced Screens

Media players can be connected to one another so that each Media Player displays the same thing simultaneously.

Physics-al Media

Physics-al Media is a physics item that can store a media URL and display an image on its cover. When thrown at a media player, the Physics-al Media

Bru Ray Player / VCR

The Bru Ray Player and VCR items can be connected to Media Players. Once connected, throwing Physics-al Media at one of these items will play the Physics-al Media's stored video on the item's connected Media Player.

Physical Media Shelves

Physical Media Shelves are a special item type that can automatically store Physics-al Media and Retro Game Cartridges. Any player can take items off shelves and throw them onto media players and consoles. Only Media Player Admins can permanently remove items from shelves and move them to other shelves.
