Accelerate

Accelerate is an arcade kart racing Game World featuring a selection of courses, often 2 for each setting, and a selection of items players can use to get the upper hand on their opponents.

Accelerate is currently in Alpha; feedback can be sent to the developers via the Accelerate Alpha category on Tower Unite's forums.

Gameplay

Accelerate matches consist of one race which lasts ~3-to-5 minutes, currently making it the Game World with the shortest match length.

Items & Drifting

During races, players pick up boxes to obtain items to boost themselves or sabotage others. Drifting charges up speed boosts, making it a useful tool to get ahead of the competition.

Shortcuts & Alternate Paths

Every track in Accelerate has a few off-road shortcuts which require drifting and/or speed boosting items to pass through. All tracks also have detour routes marked with Unit symbols that are longer than the normal route, but contain floating coins that can be collected for a higher payout at the end of the race.

Post-Round

After the race, the top 3 players are displayed on podiums themed after the current map, and a map vote for the next race will begin.

Game Types

Accelerate has two Game Types, alternate gamemodes that alter its gameplay.

Normal RaceMirror Mode

Accelerate's standard gameplay, as described above.

Mirror Mode plays identically to a normal race, but the track is mirrored horizontally.

• Accelerate is a returning Game World from GMod Tower, where it was originally named Source Karts.
  • Rounds in Source Karts used to consist of 3 unique tracks per map, followed by 2 rounds of Battle Mode, rather than the 1-track race format used today.
