Boardwalk
The Boardwalk is a large outdoor area in the Plaza featuring a variety of games, stores, and a couple of rides.
Stores
The Boardwalk has 6 stores:
- Fresh Food and Smoothies, which sells ingredients for the currently-unreleased cooking feature
- Celebrations, which sells fireworks, holiday-themed items, and houses The Ghoulcery Store and Santa's Workshop while their respective events are inactive
- Franky's Grill, which sells various equippable food and drinks
- The Snack Bar, run by Franky Jr., which sells a wider selection of food and drinks typically found in carnivals
- Gone Fishin' Bait Shop, which sells rods, bait, and aquariums for fishing
- Bumper Cars Upgrades, which sells cosmetic items for Bumper Cars
Games
Carnival Games
The Boardwalk has 4 carnival games and 2 arcade games to play. Each of these games pay out with Tickets which can be spent at The Asteroid Belt, a prize store in the Arcade. Click on the images below to travel to their respective articles.
Bumper Cars
A fast-paced, chaotic minigame in which players bump into each other with cars. Includes some elements not present in real life, such as a manual speed boost and the ability to destroy enemy players' cars.
Typing Derby
A competitive typing game where up to 8 players race to finish typing a paragraph before time runs out. Typing Derby primarily uses passages from various public domain literature (most often War of the Worlds), but also uses some user-submitted paragraphs[1] too. It is currently the only Boardwalk game to have its own section in the Collection Book.
See Typing Derby's article for more information.
Fishing
The water surrounding the boardwalk is a designated fishing spot. One of two Gone Fishin' Bait Shops in the Plaza is located at the far end of the boardwalk, by the Ferris Wheel, for easy access to rods and baits.
Other Attractions
Poseidon
A rideable roller coaster with a Greek / water theme. There isn't any minigame attached to the ride, and there aren't any payouts for riding it, but it does have two Achievements; one for riding it once and another for riding it 10 times.
Ferris Wheel
Like Poseidon, the Ferris Wheel is a rideable ambient attraction that doesn't have any payouts for using it; however, it also does not have any achievements. Players can get on and off the ride at any time, and can rock the carts by pressing/holding W.
Upcoming Attractions
This section documents upcoming content. Be aware that the content of this section may be inaccurate or incomplete, or subject to change. |
More Carnival Games
A new set of carnival games is in development. They were mentioned among other features in the 'Upcoming' section of update 0.17.11.0's patch notes[2], but screenshots have also been posted in Weekly Dev Logs[3] before then.
Shooting Gallery
There is a Shooting Gallery with a wild west theme in the Boardwalk, attached to the Theater building, which is currently not playable. It was in Lobby 2, the original iteration of Tower Unite's Plaza, but was not present in Lobby 3 until the Halloween 2022 update. There is no roadmap page for this specific Shooting Gallery, although there is one for the Arcade's shooting gallery, which is attached here.
Kamikaze
Kamikaze is a ride inspired by the KMG Afterburner[4] where a minigame would be played each time it was ridden[5]: the only two confirmed planned games were Balloon Battle (somewhat similar to the Balloon Burst event) and Russian Roulette (in which the ride's gondolas were terminated one-by-one and players would bet on who would survive the longest).
