Authoritative Game Coordinator
The Authoritative Game Coordinator (AGC) is an important back-end system made and used for Tower Unite.
Functions
The AGC stores and updates player information for currencies, EXP, and achievements.
- The specific currencies the AGC tracks are Units and Tickets.
- EXP and achievements are backed up every hour.
- Achievements are synced with Steam, so you can display them on your Steam profile.
EXP / Achievement Data Transfer
Prior to update 0.14.6.0, data for EXP and achievements were stored on Steam, but were moved to Pixeltail Games' own backend servers. If someone played Tower Unite at any point prior to this update, they will need to perform a transfer of their EXP and achievement data.
The transfer should appear automatically when starting the game, provided you have a stable connection to the AGC and the transfer hasn't been deactivated for emergency maintenance.
Once this happens, you can review your EXP values for each activity and refresh if they aren't displaying their proper values. After transferring EXP, the transfer screen will display the amount of achievements you've unlocked, which you can approve, or refresh until it shows the proper number.
Possible Errors / Solutions
If you earn anything that the AGC tracks while not connected to it, your progress will save as long as you don't close Tower Unite before reconnecting. If you do close TU before reconnecting, your progress is lost.
On occasion, you may fail to receive a milestone item despite being connected to the AGC, or you may receive a duplicate one. To fix this, you can log into Tower Express, which will give you the missing item or delete duplicates.
Connection/Status
There are many ways to check your connection to the AGC.
Main/Escape Menu
In the top right corner of the main menu and escape menu, your connection to the AGC will be shown.
Color | Connection Status | Meaning |
---|---|---|
Green | Connected | You are fully connected to the AGC. Everything should work fine. |
Yellow | Almost Connected | You are nearly connected to the AGC. AGC related systems may work properly, but will be slow. |
Gray | Not Connected | You are not connected to the AGC. |
Unit HUD
If you are not connected to the AGC, the HUD showing your Unit count in the Plaza and Condos will display "OFFLINE (AGC)". When you are reconnected to the AGC, this will go away and will return to showing your Unit count.
Collection Book
In the Collection Book, in the Badges and Milestones tabs, the exp for each activity will display as "OFFLINE (AGC)" if you are not connected to the AGC.
Website
There is a Statuspage site that shows the current status of the AGC, any outages in the past 90 days, and when maintenance is being done on it. You can view it here:
