Mushroom Wood (Minigolf)

From Tower Unite Wiki
Jump to navigation Jump to search

Mushroom Wood is a medium difficulty Minigolf map.

Appearance

Mushroom Wood takes place in a dark forest set on many floating islands, populated by massive trees and glowing mushrooms. The ground is fully lit up by the mushrooms, but the sky casts no light, causing the tree tall tree stems to fade in the darkness. A dense starry sky appears through the environment, causing it to appear translucent.

Holes

1 - Shine Bright Like a Mushroom

  • Par: 4
  • HIO Possible: No

Hole 1 is shaped like a lowercase n. To get the best score, shoot slightly to the right at full power to bounce off a wall and move down the right facing slope, then put at full power at the corners. A birdie is most likely, but it may be possible to get an eagle by bouncing at the perfect angle on the second putt.

2 - Around the Shroom

  • Par: 4
  • HIO Possible: No

Putt forward or just slightly to the right at full power to get in a good position to get a good position to bounce against the wall and stop near the flagpole. It is possible to get an eagle by bouncing at the right angle.

3 - Just Hit Straight.. Or Don't?

  • Par: 4
  • HIO Possible: Yes

The easiest strategy here is to hit straight on the first putt, then putt straight at the curved wall at full power to reach the circular platform the flagpole is on.

By disobeying the white marker and instead putting at full power, aiming at the base of the first glowing ring, you'll land on a yellow mushroom that will bounce you into the hole, giving you a Hole-in-One.

4 - Light Bounce

  • Par: 4
  • HIO Possible: Yes

To complete the level without a hole-in-one, shoot at full power forward and through the curved wall to reach the flagpole.

To get a hole-in-one, putt forward with the power par ending just between the R and O in 'STROKE' to land on a small blue mushroom; the mushroom will bounce you into the hole.

5 - Dispersion

  • Par: 4
  • HIO Possible: No

The starting platform on this level is sideways 8-shaped, and players have the option to go left or right; both paths are identical. Putt at full power either way and putt again into a boost pad to reach a hole. A moving platform stands in the flagpole's way, its position marked by an identical platform moving near the hole. Time your shot right to fall through the hole and into the flagpole without being blocked.

6 - Light Speed

  • Par: 6
  • HIO Possible: No

Putt to where the wall starts to curve for the smoothest path to a large ramp. Then, putt at full power to jump to a U-shaped platform. There is then another ramp to putt through, but 3 moving platforms block the way. Time your shot right to land on a rectangular platform the flagpole is on. It is possible to land into the flagpole in the same putt as jumping over the second ramp (resulting in an Albratross), but you'll likely need to putt one more time.

7 - A Light Corner

  • Par: 4
  • HIO Possible: Yes

Putt at full power onto the half-pipe to land at the higher level of the course; if you bounce at the right spot you can get a Hole-in-One. If you didn't get a hole-in-one, just putt twice over the thin bridge to reach the flagpole.

8 - Photon Finish

  • Par: 4
  • HIO Possible: Yes

The first putt sends you over a steep hill. A pacman-shaped platform guards a hole that leads straight to the flagpole, resulting in a hole-in-one, but if you miss it you'll fall down and need to putt onto a curved platform that'll roll you to the hole. A birdie is possible if you stop at a good angle.

9 - Light Funnel

  • Par: 4
  • HIO Possible: Yes

Shoot forward into a funnel with three teleporters inside, two of which land you into a bowl-shaped lower platform varying distances away from the flagpole (yellow is a short distance, red is far away), and one of which (the green one) teleports you to a separate platform and into a separate flagpole, resulting in a Hole-in-One.

Putting straight forward and slightly to the left should land the ball into the green teleporter.

10 - A Hop, Skip, and a Spark

  • Par: 3
  • HIO Possible: Yes

On the first putt you can get a Hole-in-One by timing your shot to avoid two moving platforms and land on a yellow mushroom, resulting in a Hole-in-One. If you miss it, you'll need to take at least two extra shots to reach the flagpole.

11 - Light Bend

  • Par: 3
  • HIO Possible: No

First, take a straight shot at a curved path, then shoot at a curved wall to get boosted by a line of boost pads that will take you to the flagpole. It might be possible to get an eagle by getting the bounce angle on the second shot right.

12 - Split Spectrum

  • Par: 5
  • HIO Possible: No

You can putt either left or right around the blue mushroom to start, but putting right puts you in a better position for your second shot. Putt a couple times through a long U-turn and onto a ramp to get to the flagpole.

13 - White Hole

  • Par: 4
  • HIO Possible: Yes

On the first shot you can get the power just right to putt up a steep hill and into a white hole that will take you straight to the flagpole. If you miss, you'll fall onto a lower platform and you'll need to take at least two more putts to reach the flagpole.

14 - Criss Cross Photons

  • Par: 4
  • HIO Possible: No

This hole starts with a straight shot blocked by 3 moving platforms. There is a boost pad that'll speed you through a half pipe and over a ramp into a second platform all in your first shot. At the second platform you'll need to putt to the right past two moving platforms to reach the flagpole. An eagle is possible by putting at a good angle.

15 - Glow and Flow

  • Par: 4
  • HIO Possible: No

This hole, like 5 - Dispersion, starts with two branching paths, both of which are mostly similar except that the right path is narrower in the middle and has an additional moving platform. Putt past a moving platform (if you took the right path) and again into the flagpole.

16 - In the Bright Direction

  • Par: 4
  • HIO Possible: No

This hole has two paths you can take, the left being easier but taking more putts to reach the flagpole, and the right being more difficult, needing to avoid 3 moving platforms along a narrow path. It's possible to get an eagle by going the more difficult direction.

17 - Mushroom Rays

  • Par: 4
  • HIO Possible: No

Putt around a large blue mushroom to be met with two branching paths. Both paths are identical. Putt around a sharp U-turn on either side, then up a steep wall to a glowing doorway. The doorway will teleport you straight into the hole.

18 - Better Light Than Never

  • Par: 4
  • HIO Possible: Yes

This hole is an easy Hole-in-One to finish the map. Putt straight forward at full power and the blue mushroom will bounce you into a series of other mushrooms that provide a nice view of the environment as they bounce you straight to the hole.

Trivia

  • Mushroom Wood initially released with the name 'Dark', and with only the first 9 holes implemented. It initially had a gimmick where parts of the course would be completely enveloped in darkness, hence the name. In update 0.16.7.0, the remaining 9 holes were added, the darkness gimmick was removed, and it was renamed.
  • Mushroom Wood is one of two maps to have larger flagpole holes than normal, the other being Emission.
